The Paul Wattson Lecture series welcomes James F. Puglisi, SA

Atlantic School of Theology’s lecture series continues on Monday, January 12, 2009, at 7:30 p.m.

The Paul Wattson Lecture will take place in the Sobey Conference Theatre, in the Sobey Building at Saint Mary’s University, Halifax, with guest lecturer James F. Puglisi, SA, Minister-General of the Franciscan Friars of the Atonement and Director of the Centro Pro Unione in Rome, a centre for research and formation in ecumenism.

Dr. Puglisi will speak on Celebrating Prayer for Christian Unity 1908-2008.

Dr. Puglisi holds a BA in sociology and MA/STL in liturgical theology from the Catholic University of America in Washington, a PhD in the history of religion and religious anthropology from the Université de Paris, an STD in systematic theology from the Institut Catholique de Paris, and a Certificate of Ecumenical Studies from Boston University. Among his most recent published works are The Process of Admission to Ordained Ministry: The First Lutheran, Reformed, Anglican, and Wesleyan Rites (Liturgical Press, 1998); Petrine Ministry and the Unity of the Church (Michael Glazier, 2002); and Liturgical Renewal as a Way to Christian Unity (Liturgical Press, 2005).

The Paul Wattson Lecture is co-sponsored annually by Atlantic School of Theology and The Franciscan Friars of the Atonement, in cooperation with lecture is free and open to the public; all are welcome.
